Looking out of your room or sitting on one of our terraces, you could think that you could almost reach out and touch Hohenschwangau Castle – and in fact it is only a short walk to this beautiful castle!

Embedded in the picturesque castle park landscape with its majestic mountains, deep blue lakes and the world-famous silhouette of Neuschwanstein Castle always in view, Ludwig's Festspielhaus Neuschwanstein is located on Lake Forggen.

Pilgrimage Church of St. Coloman Church

The pilgrimage church St. Coloman is located in the open country on the road to Hohenschwangau at the foot of Neuschwanstein Castle - on the way to us you can already enjoy a first glance!

Museum of the Bavarian Kings

The Museum of the Bavarian Kings is located directly between our Bräustüberl and Alpenrose restaurants.

The Chapel of Christ the King in Hohenschwangau was built in the former orangery at Hohenschwangau Castle.

Wies Church in Steingaden

Around 19 km from our resort is where you will find the Wieskirche (Wies Church) – The Pilgrimage Church of the Scourged Saviour at Wies – in Steingaden

The Marienbrücke over the Pöllat Gorge

The Marienbrücke is in the immediate vicinity of Neuschwanstein Castle. This structure is separate and independent of the Castle and provides a spectacular panoramic view of the Castle and the surrounding Schwangau area with its forests, lakes and mountains.

We are in Hohenschwangau, part of the Schwangau village near Füssen in the Allgäu. And in addition to the fantastic castles, there is plenty more to discover here – right on the Romantic Road, you can expect impressive mountains, idyllic lakes and an extraordinary landscape and location.

Cross-Country Skiing

Rodeln

You can reach most of the toboggan runs comfortably with one of the mountain railways and some of them are even illuminated in the evening. The right toboggan - whether a sporty runabout or a cosy multi-seater - can usually be hired from nearby shops or directly from the lifts at the valley station.

Snowshoe

1 2 3 and off you go with snowshoes through snow-covered Allgäu winter landscapes! Ideal for families as well as for athletes looking for an alternative to skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and other winter sports.
