Our rooms

Our dog-friendly rooms (Deluxe category) in the Galeria wing are available for your stay. These rooms are available on request and subject to availability, specially reserved for you and your four-legged friend.

A picturesque view of a lakeside hotel surrounded by lush greenery and rolling hills. The building features a mix of traditional and modern architecture with red-tiled roofs. The calm water reflects the landscape and trees, creating a serene atmosphere.

Adventures with your dog

The Allgäu Alps are among the most beautiful regions in Germany, and for dogs, the area around the AMERON Neuschwanstein Alpsee Resort & Spa is a real paradise.

Alpsee-Rundweg

Right on our doorstep lies the Alpsee Circular Walk: a varied route along the crystal-clear lake with stunning mountain views – a relaxing stroll, yet with plenty of nature for curious explorers to discover. The route is just under six kilometres long and takes around 1½ hours. Start right here at our hotel and walk towards our Alpenrose restaurant. From there, follow the lakeside path. Every now and then there are metal grating bridges that cannot be walked around. If your dog is used to them, this is no problem. Alternatively, you will need to carry them over the grating.

Alpine Rose Trail by Lake Alpsee

Start opposite the Hotel am Fischersteig and head towards Schwansee. From there, you’ll reach the Alpenrosenweg, which mainly runs through the forest. Along the way, there are some fantastic viewpoints and moments of tranquillity as the tall trees around you rustle in the wind.

Swimming spots for your dog

Fancy a slightly longer trip? The crystal-clear Große Alpsee near Immenstadt has a dog beach where your four-legged friend can swim to their heart’s content. It’s just under an hour’s drive from our hotel to the town, and the Große Alpsee is located a little further out. At the Forggensee near Füssen, too, dogs are allowed to swim at the designated dog beach. Please look out for the prohibition signs along the way. Swimming is not permitted for animals in these areas.

Climb up Tegelberg

If your dog is fit enough, a hike up Tegelberg is well worth it. The “Königsrunde” panoramic trail is particularly beautiful, offering stunning views of the royal palaces on both the ascent and descent. If you’d prefer to start right at the top, take the cable car up and then head back down via the “Naturpfad Ahornreitweg” nature trail.

Important information for your stay

What are the rules regarding dogs in the local area?

The natural surroundings of Schwangau are beautiful – and deserve to be protected. As the municipality is completely surrounded by nature reserves, dogs must be kept on a lead throughout the entire municipal area. This ensures that encounters with wild animals and cows in the pastures, as well as the tranquillity of the countryside, are preserved for everyone. This is particularly important when passing through cattle pastures. Mother cows, in particular, will defend their calves aggressively. In this context, please also be mindful of your dog’s hunting instinct. It is particularly important to stay on the marked paths at all times to give the wildlife living there the space they need. Finally, we ask you to carry a dog waste bag to collect your four-legged friend’s mess.

What do I need to bear in mind when staying at a hotel?

Our Deluxe rooms in the Galeria wing are available for your stay with your dog – subject to request and availability. Please note that this offer does not apply to the Alpenrose Deluxe room category. When visiting the Lisl restaurant, we ask that you leave your dog in your room. Your dog is welcome to accompany you for the rest of the day: four-legged friends are very welcome at the Schloss Bräustüberl restaurant and the Ludwig Bar.

Are dogs allowed at Neuschwanstein Castle?

(Kopie 5)

Dogs are not permitted inside the castle. There is no on-site dog-sitting service available. Your dog may explore the grounds around the castle with you, provided it is kept on a lead.
